Originally formed to make photo sharing software for social networking services such as MySpace, Slide was a “Web 2.0” company founded by Max Levchin (founder of PayPal) and based in San Francisco. Slide achieved success as the largest developer of third-party applications for Facebook. The company was acquired by Google on August 4, 2010 and shut down on March 6, 2012.
My career began at Slide/Google, where I started working as a Junior Designer and was eventually promoted to Senior Designer, after graduating from the Academy of Art University in Spring 2009. As a Senior Designer, my tasks included managing a team of designers and animators in Indonesia, creating static and animated in-game content, and programming virtual goods in Python.
